We did good at panguitch lake last week. Ice varies from 6 to 9 inches depending on how far out you are. We tried several colors of jigs with mealworms or nightcrawler. Also a kastmaster with nightcrawler. All seemed to work . Fished in 12 to 28 feet of water. All fish were right off the bottom. Averaged a fish every 20 minutes between the two of us. Rainbows are really healthy there and good sized.

Thanks for the report, we sure don't don't get many from that lake. Were there many other fisherfolks out there? How long were the Good Sized bows you caught?

I know you didn't ask me.....but here are my answers:
Lot's of other fishermen.
rainbows coming in two sizes: 12-14", and 18". those 18" rainbows are really nice.
the cutts are really nice too.

Does that mean you have been there recently?

Great, I bet those bigger bows put up a good fight. I know that last 16" bow I caught at Mantua was hard to even get it through the hole. I don't know about you but I use light line while ice fishing and as hard as most bigger bow fight, I'm always worried about them breaking me off. I've already had that happen to me once this season.[crazy]
