My father in law and I are planning on going to Big Sand Wash reservoir on Monday and Tuesday. We've never been there before and I was hoping to get some recommendations for I've fishing it. Any help would be great thanks!

Be advised they are filling the reservoir so the edge ice can be a little dicey and you may want to bring an 8' board to help out. There are two public access points -- one at the dam (boat ramp) and a sportsman's access (it's marked) a mile or so north of the dam on the east side of the reservoir, everything else is private. The perch are typically found from 25' to 45' on the sand and mud flats -- look north and west of the boat ramp or south and west of the sportsman's access. They are averaging about 7" to 9" with a lot of smaller perch. Unfortunately they have been deep enough you can't release the smaller ones. Trout fishing through the ice has been inconsistent there, at least for me.
