Stopped by AF cause I was in the area. Ice is 3 inches and deteriorating rapidly in the harbor about an inch of standing water on top of it. Cracked all over the harbor, too sketchy for my feet.
I fished the docks for about an hour one pole with a sonar the other with green ice fly with a wax worm. I marked one good looking fish on the vexilar ( everything looks huge at 3’ deep on the vexilar) looking at the ice fly but missed the bite cause I was looking at the vexilar instead of my rod tip. Water was 2-3’ deep.
Spoke with a kind gentleman fishing from shore at the south end of the harbor in the main lake in an open spot. He hadn’t been there long and hadn’t done any good but mentioned yesterday someone pulled out two nice walleyes from the docks... kinda made me wonder if a walleye was the bite I missed.

Usually I am convinced that the bite I missed is a massive Walleye. [Tongue]

Keeps me coming back...

Well said. Next time we will have a picture to prove it. Unless we miss the bite....
