First club tournament of the year was Saturday and due to illness we were unable to prefish. We started on main lake points but the current was too much for our taste. We tried secondary points and grass flats in the 8-10ft range that traditionally hold fish but struck out. We bounced around all day and didn't get our first bite tilli 45 mins before weigh-in. The first two came on a trap and the next 7 on a shakey head. Fish were dirt shallow buried in the eel grass in a pocket off the main river. Of the 9 we caught only one was short. We ended up winning with 3 for 10lbs. Lesson for the day is never give up.
