I’ve Been thinking about installing some steps on the trailer for getting in and out of the boat at the bow when launching and loading. This way I wouldn’t have to wait for a spot next to a dock when launching alone or with the grandkids.
Anyone out there using them? If so what brand do you have and how do you like them?
I think that they would be a great idea, if not for safety reasons only, but the well made ones are not cheap. Around $750 with shipping.
I’ve been looking at the EZEE Steps, and Trick Step models.
Thanks, Brian

I have attached some pictures of what the Ezee Steps look like.

Wow, those are not cheap. Can't help you with your question. I use my spare tire to get on or off my boat, it is mounted about mid height, so works great and since we all need a spare tire for our boat trailers, it serves two purposes. I can get you a pic of it, if you are interested.

Is your boat high enough that you need something that fancy to get off of the bow? I just installed one step on my trailer
and it meets my needs.

Maybe a little cheaper option - just an FYI...

WH2,
I have used my spare tire at times to get in and out at the bow, but it always makes me nervous. The pictures I attached in my earlier post of a boat is very similar to my boat, trailer, and spare.
I like the idea of being able to climb down the steps, hook up the strap, and crank it up with out getting my feet wet. There is no way that I’m able to reach the strap and wench from inside the boat.
Thanks, Brian

Kent,
Yep, my boat is a deep-V Hull, so kind of hard to easily and safely climb of at the bow.
Thanks, Brian

Lundman,
I did look at the Easy Step System, they would still cost close to $500 shipped, and they don’t seem to be as well made as the Ezee Steps and Trick Steps, check out some of their videos on YouTube.
Thanks, Brian

I can see how that would be a problem if your spare tire sits at the angle of that boat in your pic. If you decide to buy the more expensive ones you are looking at, please let us know how it works out.

This is what I came up with for my deep v tracker. The ladder is rated for 300 lb. and is intended for a party barge. It has been great for launching at the ramp and from the shore. It is a lot safer than stepping on a spare tire with wet shoes. I got it from Amazon in 2015 for $45. They come in 2, 3 or 4 step models.

Thanks Burley,
That might be a setup to consider, a lot less expensive and it’s attached to the boat not the trailer for when you’re pulling into shore to get in and out.

You are welcome to come up to Brigham to check it out if you care to. PM me for address. The boat is in my garage so weather is of no concern. I think that this setup will please you for years to come. As you mentioned, launching from shore is easy. Step on to ladder instead of jumping at the boat bow.
