Super excited to go ice fishing today. Haven’t gone in about 10 years.

Tried to get on Pineview but sunk in the snow everywhere from knee to hip. Quite a workout and surprise pockets of slush. Solid ice was further out than my 8’ plank would cover. Moved on to Causey. Ice was about 18” thick and 8’ plank was perfect. Tried 50 yards off the dam and 25 yards off the dam. Tried pink, green, and white jigs. Tried glow bugs and tipped with wax worms. Tried dropping to the bottom and every depth on the way back up. Came home with...a sunburn.

Ouch! Those are tough bodies of water (in my experience). I didn't make it to Pineview this year, but my one trip to Causey resulted in very few fish.

Hope the down day won't discourage you from ice fishing for another 10 years.
