anyone know what utah laws are on roadkill. Not as food but taking of fur or parts of. for fly tying materials. Mainly small game like rabbits . might cut off a buck tail. but mainly looking at something that I can easily though in the truck bed to skin later.

If it is a protected species you would need to contact a conservation officer so he can issue a salvage tag. That protects you. A lot of times it's verbal permission over the phone.

no quite sure- I do skin out a couple of my pheasants and huns each year . I watch everything else pretty closely for I have taken in unwanted bugs and had to toss a couple of good hackles- that wont happen again.

Call DWR at 801-476-2704. This is where we report road kill for pick up. Up here in Mt Green the snow melt is exposing a lot of winter and road kill were getting picked up before they ripen.
