I went on the DNR map and filtered it to show wiper waters and all these city ponds showed up. Are they in these places? I thought it might be fun to trow some flies at them while waiting for runoff to end. Thanks

Caught one once at Highland Glen, saw a guy catching a bunch of them at Salem.

I had a neighbor kid catch one at Jensen Park. He thought he had on one of those brood stock rainbows until he got it in and saw that it was 12" Wiper. Those fish are sure fun to catch

I’m assuming they can’t get big in these ponds like in the larger reservoirs? Don’t they need shad to get hefty?

I got one out of Andy Adams res. in Layton, last summer. A week later my son reported seeing them lying dead all along the shore line. I didn't see them, and it's possible , just barely possible, that he might have mistaken crappie. I don't recall asking about size.. (either way it was bad news)
