Muskies, Inc. Chapter 65 Mountain West Muskie helped the DWR stock 2.5” Fountain Green and Lee Kay Hatchery Fish last week and yesterday. Per DWR they have raised 250k.

Pineview has received 27,400 and Newton 6K.

Survival rate is 6-10% of initial stocking. Growth is from 8”-16” first year.

Chapter 65 is proactive and involved with all state region DWR Fishery Biologists and current management plan bodies of water regarding this species.

That's amazing that they can grow 16 in in the first year, too bad more species don't grow like that!

Per the tagging study Chapter has done, with this year as 3rd year, per fin rays chapter members have provided some fish are very high 20” range even low 30”s per 2017 stocking . However some fish are smaller an some bigger.

DWR officials are learning a great deal regarding this species from Chapter 65 partnership working together. Plus Chapter Anglers are learning also a great deal from the DWR.

Win-Win on proactive involvement.

One may not like outcome but at least for a cause, one provides justifiable rationale emotions in check. That’s how Chapter 65 works.
