When the great fishermen of Utah sit around the table to swap yarns, there are certain special experiences held in reverence and awe such as: seeing that 40" musky charge a bucktail spinner at Pineview; hitting the perfect hatch on the Green River; having Stripers at Lake Powell start a slurp around the boat and hammering a Whooper Plopper- and - Included in that mix is the quest to hit Ice off at Strawberry and crush some cruising Cuts and Bows. Well Cookie did it today with a bruiser of a run at over 27 fish in a few hours. I did my feeble best to keep up but fell woefully short of her mark.
The video tells it best with a mix of humor, and what/where. Stay all the way to the bloopers at the end.
Cookie killed it on superdupers in gold and silver, a pink Rooster Tail and a jointed Rapala in chub color at Chicken Creek on the Strawberry side and over at Cannon on the Solider Creek side.
Ice is off - go get em
Video link is below - enjoy - we did

It may surprise you to know that I consider myself as a quiet and reserved guy - not someone prone to video themselves singing a pirate tune or talking to a stuffed fish.
My son just gave me a major eye roll and a "really dad" to that - maybe he sees a different side of me.

Man you guys are getting out a lot, I'm so jealous... Great report and trip... Thanks for sharing it with us and you're right I did get to see ya at the Flotilla, sorry I guess I just didn't put the screen name with your face... Did you get any slot busters? Boy this stuck at work thing is really tough when you're off catching fish like that... congrats... J

The last 5 days were suppose to be our Lake Powell trip, which did not happen as my boys could not coordinate time off from work, so Cookie and I played with the local fishies. Alas work and the ranch are calling me back too, so my water time may suffer
We did get one slot buster, no tape but estimated at upper 20s. Was just looking at Trouthollwer post, looks like his leach magic was on and he had some slot busters. He always looks like he is having a blast. I bet we were watching him as I went all James Bond with my scope checking out what the other ice buster were up to.

If you guys have never fished for Kokanee at Strawberry I can take you out
It may be about 30 days till they start biting good

Hey Robert,
I thought you would be up there trying to catch them as soon as ice came off. Are going to wait for the lake to turn over?
Keep me in mind to share gas when you go to strawberry. I am pretty flexible and have been on your boat a couple of times already.

Oh ya we will take you up on some Koke education and recreation. Way early this spring I had a guy offer in a similar generous way to teach us the ropes on Pike at Yuba. Have not been able to make that connection yet, but its sure nice to have the offer and work towards a future trip

Well I'm glad you got some good fish time in before you have to go back to work... It's looked like you've done really well and got a great mix of species too, the last few weeks... Congrats and thanks for sharing those trips with us... Jeff
