Well, weather forecasters said it would rain most of this past weekend. And it did rain for quite a bit of it, but each day Friday - Sunday there was a several hour window that it wasn't. I hit the BR each day, got a couple good score bump Cats on Friday an one small Cat that wouldn't help me any. Saturday the weather was even better for several hours between about 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. caught another smallish Cat to prevent me taking a skunk home. Sunday was a different story. Wife and I were at the river by about 930 a.m. and we went totally bite-less for 5 hours, at 3 different spots. Well, she wanted to try one last spot on our way out. Was the same place she caught her firs contest Cat last month. So we stopped. I dropped my line out on one side of the road, she walked across the road and basically did the same thing she did last month. With the exception of getting snagged up and breaking off her hook leader. I fix her up with a new leader, and she went back to her side of the road.

I gave her a few minutes, then thought, heck, I'll go over there too. As I'm walking across the road, I see her pulling back on her pole, looked like another snag.
Nope, got up to her and she says, [#0000ff]It's a fish !![/#0000ff] [Image: yell.gif] And of course I had left the net on the other side of the road. [:/] Fortunately the big momma Cat was well hooked in her lower lip, and there was a mostly dried out mud ledge at the edge of the bank. I walked out on the mud ledge,, and dragged the Cat up out of the water, onto the mud, then up on to the bank where there was no chance of it flopping back into the water before we could take it's portrait and vital statistics.

Got it measured and photo'd... A reasonable 25.5 inch to add to her contest board. [Wink]

And of course.........we just get the fish released, and the clouds opened up.........pouring rain. No chance for me to even the score..............[:/].

But being able t o get out to the river each day, meeting jig-fisher,and landing some fish made for a very enjoyable weekend. Even with the DNR fellas that stopped to check out licenses.

Sounds like great weekend, even with the poor weather. You still managed to catch some good fish.
