I'm from PC and I hate this lake since the Bass fishing crashed.
Now I love it again.

I have had the same reaction in the past with jordanelle, but personally, once I expanded my ability and knowledge beyond just trout fishing it quickly became one of my favorites, so many species you can try for especially since the kokanee and wiper have been picking up.
If I'm not having any luck with one I can always try for another, i live in west Jordan and believe it is the most versatile fisheries with in a reasonable distance.

Nicely done. I'll be heading up in the morning for kokanee for the first time there. Do you have any tips or advice? Thanks

I’ve just started fishing this lake with my Hobie kayak and have learned about a fish called a wiper...I’m falling in love. However I’ve only been able to catch them when they are doing their boil and haven’t had much luck trolling or anything else. I really want to learn to hit the Kokanee as well.

Nice catch. How early can you get a boat on the lake .thanks[reply]

I've launched at 6 am. No one staffing the gates or the boat inspection that early so make sure you get a mussel cert and park pass at the entry gates.

Took me a while to figure out the depth.
30 to 40 feet Monday AM. Fish are already starting to get pink fins.
Think deep water.
White and Blue splatter spinner best luck.
Kokonee Creek Tackle spinner.

Tell me about the boils your seeing at jordanelle
Are they in the evening or midday. I wonder what bait fish they are chasing. Where did you see the boils? Thanks

I launch my kayak on the rock cliff side and I peddle around in the no wake area. About 8:00pm to 8:30PM they seem to be the most active. I’ll be chasing them around for a while following the different schools that are surfacing. They’re definitely not big schools. But what I’ve been doing is waiting for them to surface and try to quickly cast over and reel into them. The only thing I’ve been catching them on is a shad jig that has a rainbow trout color pattern. I caught 6 in two days all at about that 8-8:30 time.

A picture with my boy holding our first one.

Thanks for the good, detailed info. That's an area I've been wanting to try.

Don't know if you noticed but your picture did not post.

With wiper I have had good luck with 3" pearl and glitter swimbaits, as well as 3" brown trout pattern sinking rapalas....I have usually had best luck on the north side of rock creek off the points.
