Headed to the river to start prepping for CFF #9. Headed downriver and started throwing small jigs, with no luck, finally headed further downriver where we started catching a few spot and largemouth on spinnerbait, crankbait, and topwater. Looked up to see it raining buckets downtown. We figured it was a ways from us and continued fishing. Ten minutes later a bolt of lightning appears to hit a few hundred yards from us. It was time to go! We both quickly tied down our rods and headed to the ramp. Got home to East Ridge to find out they had been deluged with a huge storm. Always better to be safe than sorry.
