Ok, root canal or fish one of our local waters on a holiday? I should have booked that dentist chair. On a whim we drove up to East Canyon on the afternoon of the 24th - it's possible I have truly lost my mind. Banks were packed with sun lovers. Water was wall to wall with floating craft of all kind. We grabbed a small rock and set up a few bank rods for trout, a wiper rod, and our fourth with various rigs for the bronze backs. Not a single twitch on the bait rods. I did manage a tiny smallmouth on a count down rapala, rainbow color, but cookie did not see it, so she isn't letting me count it. She had a hit on drop shot, but was unsuccessful in getting it to shore.

Finally at the end of the evening I had that big one on. After a hearty drag in, what felt like an monster.....well. I will let the photo speak for my big moment of redemption.

You didn't tell us you were collecting garbage that day or maybe we could have arranged a work party. LOL[cool]

Looks like a fine specimen - what bait did you have to offer that to entice it ashore ?
