How fast can you go with your Bimini up?

I've been up over 30 mph with mine up but mine snaps down onto the windshield so I haven't been to worried about the speed.

Other tops that I have been under have held up fine while on plane.

Over 35 MPH and no problems.

During colder weather months mine is setup with backdrop in the driveway with Bear L in my sights. The Bimini attaches at the top of windshield and slopes upward directing airflow over with no wind resistance that can be applied to the underside. It works fine for me with highest speed towing at 65mph going thru Sardine Canyon but speeds lower after that. About an 80mi trip one way and this is the only trip I travel with it deployed. Top speed on the lake is up to 40mph. Photo shows how Bimini attaches. I wouldn't suggest towing one without this style.

Nice setup. Mine is not attached to anything in the front. Actually I was wondering about leaving it up while moving at speed to another area of the lake. My max speed is 30 mph so I doubt that it will be much of a problem. Besides, with the cooler weather I won't likely raise it until next summer.

Mine has the square tubing which is better support. I've looked around SLC & Ogden areas and haven't been able to find RV/Boat upholstery shops that carry the square tubing. All that can be found is round either in stainless or aluminum. However the square is used by Park-A-Way in Chubbuck, Idaho. They usually have a big venue set up at the Boat Show as with other RV/Boat upholstery shops in SLC about February time frame. You'll also find that Park-A-Way will carry a larger selection of material to use for Bimini tops and travel covers. They also have a good selection of quality fishing boats. [bobWink]
