Lately I've been reading a lot of posts from Catchinon and Mooseman about Lincoln Beach so I thought I better give it another try and if not cats maybe get a Walleye.

I knew a cold cold cold front was moving in later in the week so cold it just might freeze up! (Kidding) I thought this was the day. 75F degrees blue skies a light breeze. The lake was glass perfect to drift a Flig. Surely the fish will be in feeding frenzy and today will be the day I am entered into the Big Fish Tackle Hall of Fame or maybe even receive some kind of special invitation to the insiders club, because my post was so amazing because I caught so many fish.

Around 4:45 p.m. I arrived at the Lincoln Beach boat ramp and Set sail around 5:00 p.m with Brojos from So Jo my son 9 year old son and Doughy my 5 year old son. They did nothing in preparation to set sail. And fighting is a form of entertainment for them as we sailed.

We headed North West as we trolled a Meppes - Before we hit the first west point my rod about flew out of the boat. Biggest White Bass I ever caught. I couldn't believe how big this guy was and thick. I used him for cut bait, but I should of taken him home for dinner.

We rounded the corner straight west - We had another WB on the line, but he was smarter than that last.
Not a single boat on the Lake tonight? They must know something I don't know. Not a single Wadder Warrior on the Lake? Nobody in sight. How could this be? Was it the half moon in the east?

Around the corner there is a rock sticking up out in the middle of a small bay. I took the water temp a cold 57 degrees. Perfect for Cut Throat! We used the rock as our focal point to drift out North East. We set up some Big Kong FLIGS with the WB. Because I'm going for the State Record. Probably way to big for tonight. But I've seen big cut bait in all the pictures. Then we downsized to Gorilla. Maybe a few nibbles on the meat from the WB early on they were jumping. Then snags on the bottom. Obviously doing something wrong. Then the Sun Set so I headed back to the marina. Saw one guy bank tangling at the mouth. He said he had nothing all night. I had the entire 150 Square miles of Utah Lake to myself from 5 pm. to 7 pm. And I couldn't get one Kitty Cat to Play? My son said that maybe they are in hibernation?

???? Now What? Still 6 Weeks left of good open water - Time to bail on Utah Lake and hit the Cuts?

I feel your pain. I could only eke out one cat yesterday where we have been catching a number. That rock is in the mouth of what is known as the L, if I have it right. It's supposed to be a great place for cats during the spawn, according to TubeDude. It attracts so many lusty catfish that it has been nicknamed Th Cat House. Sort of a mini Bird Island. Right now the cats seem to be in the deepest water they can find, around 9'+. At that depth you wont have any snags, either. The white bass was the right bait but they want smaller chunks right now, maybe 1.5x1.5" or a little bigger.

Pisco has caught channels during every month of the year so it is possible to get some still. Wait a couple of days after the cold front moves through then troll very slowly, ~.5 mph. Bring plenty of simple verbal games such as I Spy with My Little Eye, the "either/or" game, the "and" game, etc. (Details on request.) And have plenty of snacks on hand.

From what I have been hearing you might just want to head to Strawberry; it sounds like they are just killing the cutts there.

Good luck and have fun [Smile].
