The best fishing line that I have ever used is Spiderline XXX[Image: gforum.cgi?do=post_attachment;postatt_id=2725;]! I use it in 12lb test and have never had a problem with it. It has no memory what so ever on my rig. It has great strength, a fish has never broke me off.

For braid, nothing beats Spiderwire Stealth[Image: gforum.cgi?do=post_attachment;postatt_id=2725;]! I use it in 20lb and it is just awesome!

i too used the spiderline xxx in 12lb weight but one day i went carp fishing and fought and landed 10 between 3-10lbs and after that i had line strech so bad that i had to completly respool. I was kinda dissapointed so i got the cheepy eagle claw stuff and it has worked just as well and i havent had the line strech.

i've been using 14# spiderwire fusion still haven't made up my mind on it yet this ice season i've been using 6# fireline micro ice and i think it works great i like it so much i'm going out monday and by some in 10# i figure it will work great throwing 3" senkos to smallmouth bass this year

I use Pline as well as Ande for most of my general fishing requirements. I also use the Spiderline, Spiderwire, Trilene XL and Trilene Big Game. Those are all good lines.

My favorite is still the Excalibur brand. It is strong, ultra low memory and comes in all your favorite sizes.

I'm still experimenting with different lines. But for some reason I primarily stick with Trilene brands. Thinking about giving Yozuri Hybrid a try sometime and I'm dying to get my hands on some of the Cajun Fishing Company line that's red.

THE BEST LINE I'VE USED IS A TOSS UP BETWEEN BERKLEY VANISH. LAST YEAR ON THE COMPANY FISHING TRIP I HOOK A FISH PROBABLY A HUGE WIPER. I THOUGHT IT WAS A LOG UNTIL IT PULLED BACK. ANYWAY THE 17# VANISH HELD THE TREBLE HOOK ON THE RAPALA DIDN'T [Sad]

were you useing the vanish on a spinning reel ? i tried it on one and found it twisted to easy i have yet to try it on a bait caster i still have some vanish on the spool it came on and have been useing it as a leader for ice fishing which seems to work great

I also had some problems with the 8# Vanish while fishing river walleyes. It got brittle after several weeks. Could break it too easy after that. And, I always take off about 4 feet every day to make up for the twist it gets by the where you tie it to your hook.

I absolutely love 8# Trilene XL for rivers. Great line. I tried some stuff last year that is pretty good too. It's called Iron Silk. Good stuff.

I USE THE VANISH ON BOTH SPINNING AND BAITCASTING. THE ONLY TIME I HAVE ANY LINE TWIST IS WHEN TROLLING BUT YOU CAN TAKE CARE OF THAT WITH A SWIVEL. I PULL OFF ABOUT FIVE FEET EVERY TIME I RETIE, AND CHANGE MY LINE QUITE AFEW TIMES THROUGH THE YEAR. LOST TOO MANY FISH BECAUSE OF WEAK OR WORN LINE DON'T TAKE A CHANCE ANY MORE.

PLINE and BERKLEY. Hands down. Great monofilament.

[Tongue] No antique stuff for me , its fireline , spiderwire , or gorrilla line !! You can feel the bite better , heck , you can feel them breath on it ! I do use that mono stuff for backing on my linecounters tho !! LOL !!!

I've used Fireline on all my rods for the last three years. I did pick up some Iron Silk to try this year on the flipping rod.
