Looks like an fun trip, we where there Saturday morning but fished farther out in 45 fow. We ended up with 4.

Enjoyed your video and congrats on catching some. If you want to increase your catch rate you should consider using rods that have more back bone. I particularly noticed that the rod your father was using was extremely light action and suitable for pan fish. I have tried the light pan-fish rods, up there, and like you, I missed a ton of bites. A light-action rod is so flexible that it is difficult to drive a hook into a larger fish. A spring bobber, on a medium-action rod, and a substantial hook set will get many more fish hooked.

[fishon] Lucky Catch! Great Video - Fun to make with the kids. For a minute there I thought I was watching a cooking video - Double Cheese Burger on the ice! If I ever smell that cooking on the ice - for sure I'll come running over. That looked amazing. [fishon]
