I got into Turkey hunting at the request of my son...he wanted to give it a try. So for the past 4 years we have had General Season Spring tags and still no Turkeys.
Part of the problem is just not knowing where to go. I've done a lot of searching online using the DWR Hunt planner and its been a big help.
We have hunted Bountiful, Meadow, Fillmore, and Clarkston.....trying to find places that wont be full of other hunters.
We have all the gear/equipment you could ever need and other than more practice with the calls.......all we need are Turkeys.
Can anyone suggest a few more places to try for a Turkey? We have been trying to stay within 1.5-2 hr drive from Kaysville....we can usually get up early enough and make the drive and be ready for shooting hours.
We have been out all but 3 days of the hunt this year. We can hear them....but never get close enough for a shot.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Although I am really enjoying the time and memories with my son.....bagging a bird would be awesome!
Thanks
RG
