On USGS topo maps, the bay just east of the marina is called "Mackinaw Bay." Does anyone know if they ever tried to plant Mackinaws at Strawberry or was it just a fanciful name to suggest the existence of big trout in Strawberry?

Probably because they were stocked in there years ago. Just like Deer Creek, Starvation, and even Utah Lake.
