Full Version: Name of these flys

[Image: C1-F06271-1-B25-41-A0-9-C62-DBE7342025-F6.jpg]Was gifted these flies a few years ago and they sat unused since. After using boobie flies this week I remembered these foam body flies that were sitting unused in my box. Any idea what these are and how to fish them?

Not real sure. Looks a bit like a gurgler (wooly bugger with life jacket). Used for pan fish and bass. Fished a bit similar to a popper. Does work on trout and in a pinch as a salt water fly. Fish aren't going to care what you call it or what it was supposed to be Tongue, . Let us know how it works.

They look like popcorn beetles. Popular flies for Pyramid Lake in Nevada.

Yup, thought the same thing... Popcorn Beetles w/ marabou tails (no tails on the original pattern).

I guess that means he needs to take a road trip to Pyramid Lake this year! Still on my bucket list.
