I picked up my new toy today.  Now I just need to get it installed.

Nice, have you had a I-Pilot before?

No I-Pilot, spot lock, or lift assist.  When I bought the boat it had a powerdrive 55 on it with a foot pedal.  Most likely from the early 2000's.  I have to manually deploy and lift it back in, and steer with the foot pedal. I am really looking forward to using it.
I'm sure you will really like it if you have not had one before, it's a game changer for sure. Love the spot lock and the autopilot function. Sure is great to let it steer the boat when you are trolling or trying to land a fish.
Congrats, Paul. I've been coveting one of those. Do you mind sharing how much they cost?

They are pricey.  I got the 80 lb thrust model.  Retail on it at Cabelas was $1899.  I had a 10% off coupon, used up nearly all my banked Cabelas points, and then used the money from selling my old boat.  It ended up costing me about $300 out of pocket after using all those other discounts, points and saved funds.

That's not too bad, I was lucky to get one similar to yours from a guy on the site that let me make payments, so that worked out great for me. My 80 lb thrust motor is 24 vt how about yours?

It is also a 24 vt. I will have to do some additional wiring, but I already have 2 large marine deep cycle batteries that I was alternating use on with the old motor.  I will also be installing an on board charger to eliminate that hassle.

Sounds like you have it figured out, if you have the room for both batteries to sit side by side, you will only need one short jumper to set it up for a 24vt system.
