I confirmed with Chris Penne (DWR) that the Forest service is going to install the gate at the Port ramp.

I have given my three cents worth.

Mention a solution if you can. I recommended cameras be installed to monitor the port ramp.

Tuesday we drove over to talk to the gate installer, he informed me that the Forest service manager was planning on leaving the gate open until the snow got so deep that it was no longer safe to drive into the area, without getting stuck. Hope that is true.
