BABCOCK, WI--Fishermen who want to be prepared to deal with medical emergencies afield will want to check out a Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources-sponsored Wilderness First-Aid clinic at the DNR's Sandhill Outdoor Skills Center March 6.
The clinic will be held from 9 a.m. to noon. Speaker Rod Erickson, M.D., will discuss topics on outdoor hygiene, how to deal with cuts, sprains, strains, broken bones and evacuation strategies. The clinic is recommended for persons guiding families and friends in such out-of-the-way places as the Boundary Waters and other remote places.
Registration is limited to 25 people and is on a first-come, first-served basis and will be confirmed by mailing in the registration fee of $10 per person by February 25.
Checks should be made out to DNR-Skills Center and mailed to: Sandhill Outdoor Skills Center, Box 156, Babcock, WI 54413.
