Hey Everyone,
I have not been able to head up to Porcupine recently, but would love to know what the ice situation is. Anybody have any info on it? I am wanting to head up and fish Ice Off! Thanks!
Was up there this am, looks like the runoff is starting to pick up as lake was up from Monday and the gap at the dam(see pic below) is about 4 times the gap it was. The 1st big cove has a larger gap. Was in the back last week and there is an open area at the spring and a pretty good sized area where the creek comes in.

Thanks for the update, I’m in the north end of the valley and don’t want to use the gas when it’s not worth it
I’ll give it another week or two, but I want to chase some browns!
Early action for rainbows was a hoot last year at the porky. But them big browns sure make ya
Went up to the upper end at least 20yds of open water from just below the spring to the inlet, 3 different groups up fishing, only the fly guys up by the inlet had any action. 4-5 cracks in the ice running across the lake so I suspect it’s getting close to breaking up

I had someone send a picture of the upper part of the lake to me last night, those fly guys were a friend and I. White wooly-buggers did the trick for some decent bows.

How long were these decent bows? Any browns?

We had two in the 17” range, they were both fat and healthy.
