Marlin
Pretty good striped marlin bite this week from Los Arcos to the Golden Gate. Most of the marlins caught ranged between 80 to 150 pounds, some on live bait and some on lures. We caught 1 striped marlin on Wednesday and 2 striped marlin on Thursday.

Dorado
There are still a few dorados present, most of them small but also few big ones, from Rancho Migrino to Los Arcos on Lures.

Tuna
Some tuna scattered out, not big schools, caught on cedar plugs.

Wahoo
No reports this week.

Rooster
No reports this week.

Inshore
Very few skipjacks.

We have and do a few tournaments each year and can cater to fisherman who might be interested in tournament fishing. Well let’s get on with the fishing report for this past week.

WEATHER:
The forecast for Cabo San Lucas in the coming week is predicting the average daytime maximum temperature will be around 36°C, with a high for the week of 37°C expected on the afternoon of Sunday 30th. The average minimum temperature will be 27°C, dipping to its lowest on the morning of Sunday 30th at 25°C. The week will have mostly dry days although Saturday 29th and Sunday 30th are likely to see a little rain. The indicators are that Sunday 30th will have the most precipitation with an accumulation of around 3.0mm. On the whole winds are likely to be moderate.

Grilled Mahi Mahi with Pineapple Salsa

    4 Mahi Mahi fillets
    2 tablespoons olive oil
    1 teaspoon ground cumin

INSTRUCTIONS:

Grilled Mahi Mahi:

Step 1:
Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.

Step 2:
In a small bowl, mix together the olive oil, ground cumin, chili powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.

Step 3:
Brush the Mahi Mahi fillets with the spice mixture on both sides.

Step 4:
Place the seasoned Mahi Mahi fillets on the grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until the fish is cooked through and easily flakes with a fork.

Pineapple Salsa:

Step 1:
In a medium bowl, combine the diced pineapple, red bell pepper, red onion, jalapeño, and fresh cilantro.

Step 2:
Squeeze the lime juice over the salsa and mix well.

Step 3:
Season the salsa with a pinch of salt, adjusting to your taste preference.

Serving:

Coconut Pineapple Mojito

BEWARE: Please beware of the guys in the street selling boat charters. If you wait till the day you are fishing and go to the dock where your boat is many times people will mislead you to another boat or dock trying to put you on a boat that was not meant for you. You need to have a person guide you to your boat, who is from a reputable charter company. This way there is no confusion or misleading. Please remember when renting Sport fishing boats in Cabo that you rent your boat from reputable and established business. Walk into a fishing fleet office and ask questions about what you are getting and what are the costs. You don't want to rent boats from vendors in the streets and you do not want to book through shady websites offering you the world. Check through travel forums about reputable fishing fleets to deal with. Look for testimonials about the fleet your booking, your charter with. Ask about what will the boat be supplying? Will it include beverages or lunches? How much does it cost to fillet your catch? Check to see if charter boat is insured? Ask about getting your catch smoked? Check cost of a fishing license. These are just a few things to consider when booking your charter boat. We will be talking more about this in the next weeks fishing report.
