There used to be a sturgeon guide, on the Columbia River, who was from Utah. Can anyone remember his name and whether or not he still guides. I am interested in making a trip for oversized sturgeon, so if anyone can recommend a guide, please let me know. Thanks

Thanks, is Darryl the guide from Utah, or a guide that you recommend?
Guide from UT. I didn't find him with a quick google search. KSL outdoors might have the info.

I couldn't find him either.

I found him on Facebook and sent a friend request.
I used BGS Northwest in January. We caught 7 fish that day over 150 lbs. Broke a rod and a reel. It was insane. Blair is a really good guy and will make sure you are satisfied.

I was finally able to reach Darryl, through Facebook, and he said that he hasn't lived in the northwest for years, so I will either have to take my boat (researching that) or book with a different guide.
Lots of guides in and around the Dalles.
I just did a quick search and found the KSL outdoors; Adam E. did a trip with outcatching.com and a guide named Darrell Axtell. It was posted on youtube.

Thanks, but as I noted above, Darrell is no longer in Oregon:
"I'm no longer in Oregon. Sorry! You can try brokenbacksturgeonfishing.com."
In response to me asking if I could safely take my boat up and fish safely, he responded:
"I haven't been there in years so you should ask someone in the area. Each year the water is different."

I made a mistake on who we went with. It’s who we booked our trip with and he referred us to broken back sturgeon fishing. Our original guide went down the Q rabbit hole and lost his successful business. Charles was a fun guy!

A few minutes ago, I sent a message to them. Three of us, are interested in a trip, but we want to catch sturgeon that are a minimum of 8' long. No reason for us to hire a guide to catch fish the same size that is readily available, from my boat, in Idaho.
