Got out with the neighbors boat this morning, the lake has more water now than in the few past years, not a overly crazy bite, but managed to pick up a few trolling this morning.

Nice, good to see you getting out and having some success. You caught them all trolling? Did you try tossing and jigs?
Yep all but the perch, only thing caught on a jig, it was pretty slow today, didn't see anyone else catching anything.

What kind of lures were you trolling?
Dark colored rapalas.
Nice to see some fish!!!
Nice to get out and get a few, I'm sure it'll get better in the next couple of weeks.
Sure hope it gets at least a little bit better. Planning on heading there over the 4th to give it a shot. What were the water conditions? Murky or clear / temperature / any debris, etc floating around with the high water?

I actually had to travel to Montana for work and decided to drag the boat along and hit Fort Peck. Fishing was not that great... everyone was blaming the weather as it had been better previously. We could not find hardly any water over 60 degrees but fished a day and a half and picked up a few eyes, a couple of smallies a sauger and a perch. Momma got the biggie at 26.5 inches though!
Water was clear and not much debris floating around, temp was 67, I'm sure it'll get a bit better. Sounds like not a bad trip to Peck, but I'm sure with all the cold weather they've had it'll be a bit before it's really good.
How is the boat launching at Oakley? Is there a ramp? Been wanting to check it out but it looks like bank launching only and I’m worried about getting stuck.
There's a ramp, no dock though, launching is pretty good now that the lakes up.
Made it out on Friday and had some success! Got some 13 to 16 inch walleye and a few 10 inch perch. Caught fish anywhere from 8 to 18 feet of water on plugs, bouncer/crawler and jigs. Not a single trout caught this time. Water level is still great but was a bit lower than last time we were there. Great day on the water with family!
Sounds like a good trip.
It was awesome... planning another trip over this weekend!

Sounds like a great day on the water, thanks for sharing your report. Good luck on your next trip there. Were there a lot of other anglers there?
Had a great morning today, able to find a few fish.

Nice, were you using your custom jigs or trolling when you caught them?
Trolling for most of them, only 1 on a jig, but didn't jig much as it was getting hot fast today.

Did you end up getting out there again over the weekend, if so, how did you do?

Sorry for the delayed reply!  Yes, we made it over there a week later.  Ended up getting a few limits of eyes in the 13 to 16 inch range as well as one nice perch and a few rainbows (2 of which were 19 inches).  Had to move around a bit more than we did last week but did have fairly consistent action all day.  All of the same tactics as last week worked again with most coming on the bouncer/crawler rigs.
