About a week ago I got a free pass from my bride to go on a little hike at Rockport towards the back bay that use to have a small picnic area. It is not a long walk from the new day use parking area at the end of the east side road but mostly straight up and down. I had some hope that a big PB smallie and a stringer of eating size perch might be hanging out back there.
I hit it hard with a drop shot and a ned rig and even a double dropper but did not find my PB. I did catch a bunch of smallies and perch but they were all small (4-7") . Not a keeper that morning.
I did have one really good bass take a craw jig off a point but my knot failed. Got a glimps. He was good. Good enough to be a new PB? Guess I will never know.
It was a nice bit of exercise and I got back before the heat got crazy.
No photos - I need to remember that.

Too bad you missed out on that PB SM bass but it will happen as long as you stay after them. By the way, what is your PB SM bass? Glad you found your GoPro Lance, another great video.
PB is 4.2 lbs out of Willard. Out of RP 3.5. I dont usually carry a scale and wieght device and I am pretty sure I beat the RP number last year but no way to verify

I don't think that was me. I was a few days before that if I remember right but I don't remember if I ate breakfast today so if you saw the big straw cowboy hat on the shore It must of been

About 12 years ago give or take a few. South dike - freeway Bay area. I have a photo somewhere. If I can find it. Had one of my students put a 4 pounder up at Rockport last year. I did not see the scale but from the photo I can believe it

Did you measure it? I got one in Jordanelle, the year that it opened, that was 20" but I never weighed it, so I'm just trying get get an idea. My best guess was it weighed between 4 to 5 lbs.

I am sure I did but I don't keep very good records like that so don't remember but a 20" smallie would be a very very nice bass
