Hit East Canyon this morning. A little chop on the water when I launched at 7:00am. Headed for the west side of the reservoir and was throwing crankbaits to the shore and retrieving back to my boat. Nada. Decided to head south and just drift with the wind staying close to the shore in 10 to 15 FOW. Changed to a tube jig on one pole and a crawdad imitation on the other, Tipped both with a worm. Started getting bites and ended up with 8 bass. Most were all dinks and one about 14 inches that gave me quite a fight. The wind picked up around 9:30 and the power squadron started showing up, so I called it a day.

Bummer, they don't have a courtesy dock in place on the launch ramp, but I saw one up by the parking lot.

Don't think I'll be back any time soon. Think I'll stick to Rockport.

Thanks for the report on East canyon, glad you got at least that one nice bass, they can give you a good fight when they get that size or bigger and sweeting up your lure with a little bait always seems to help. Wow, with school starting back up I would have thought the power squad would have stayed away during the week or at least later in the day. They don't have a courtesy dock, that's strange, they usually leave it in until much later in the season. Do they have those bigger docks in place, back in that cove beside the ramp?

What??? All the docks were in the water at EC 5 days ago. Nothing right next to the ramp, but a nice dock with 4 or 6 bays just to the north as well as the big rental dock to the south.

Fished all three - Echo, RP, and EC in the last few weeks. Biggest bass were at at RP & EC...
Yes, they still have docks on each side of the ramp, and they were working on them when I left but they don't have a dock on the ramp. I noticed one up by the parking lot that looks like a courtesy dock, but I have no idea how long it's been sitting there. It's just helpful for me when they have a dock right on the ramp like they do at Rockport.
