I was wondering the same thing. I'm gonna talk to the guy at the traveling fish tank on Sunday and see what he says. If I remember correctly, the guy who sold me on them had it Carolina rigged on a 3 foot leader.

I've heard that the original Senko has a unique action on-the-fall that the knock-off's haven't been able to produce. Don't really know for sure, haven't taken the time to buy them and drop them in my aquarium.

Hey Shrimpboy, The real truth is that there is no major differencee. I'm sure that you know that 10 different people can fish the exact same lure 10 different ways and the result may vary.
There is alot more to how you fish it as opposed to which exact one to buy. I have tried many of the different brands, colors, sizes and shapes that are out there. I have found that many of the knock-offs are just as effective as the originals when you use them with the same technique.
If you were to try a name brand one day and the KO of it the next day, you may also vary somewhat with your results only because the fish may have changed their mind for that day.
If you ever decide to do an accurate comparison, then try the two brands back to back at the same fishing hole on the same day.

Here is a secret about knock offs...
Many times in the manufacturing business during production quality control can slip to the wayside. this will result in many instances an inferior product. These products are segregated from shipments and tho they belong to the corporation who issued the order to manufacture the product they can refuse shipments of inferior products or simply sell them at auction to some one else who will not worry weather or not the product is worthy. in many cases these corporations will make a temporary company and sell them through that name so it will not have to live up to its reputation or worry about product liabilities.
In other cases manufactures will not take a loss on the cost of materials and labor, they will sell the malformed products to lot bidders who will then package it in near named packaging.
Many times the quality is sufficient enough to meet your needs and at other times the product will not hold up.
If one stops to ponder on the cost of manufacturing the cast and dies required to manufacture copyrighted product to do a short run (short term production) of forged products you begin to realize that the possession of the cast and dies is enough for conviction of corporate espionage. it is the same as having the printing plates from the us mint.
There is one other scenario and that is old cast and dies are sold in place of being melted down to third world production. and in many cased the product ends back up in the open market here where it was not intended by black marketers.
This has been a long time problem that has been a result of us corporations manufacturing products over seas. Don’t get me wrong this has been a long time practice here in the states as well. that is why consumer protection laws came in to being. and why manufacturing of products has been shipped over seas to be free of liabilities.
So the chances of you buying a near named knock off being manufactured by the same company who produced the original is highly probable. but the quality may very from improperly cured plastics to bad paint jobs to hooks with poor qualities to just plain over productions of product that had to be sold to be gotten off the warehouse floors.
I would give it a 75% chance that the product would hold up. But will never have the collector’s value of the sir name.
