Been a bit out of touch with BFT lately. Final few weeks for Mario ( the Wookie) our German Shepard. Tried to do a few things with him. But Saturday I laid him to rest on the ranch near his friend Buddy the Beagle. Had at least one dog for the last 35 years as my adventure companion. Now it is pretty quiet when I come home.

My condolences, I’ll miss seeing him in your family adventures.
So sorry to hear that. This should be a happy time of year. 
I've had a couple of Brittany spaniels over the years that I've had to put down. It's never easy after so many years of great companionship. Dogs can be a lot of trouble but well worth it.
May he rest in peace.

Sorry you had to say goodbye. I am glad that you were able to get him out on his last couple of trips, though!
All I can say is that it wouldn't hurt if it wasn't worth it.

Funny you mention that. On a backpacking trip this past summer, my boy and I passed by 2 separate parties on the trail. Both each had a cat skipping along merrily down the dirt path. Strange. Condolences for your pup that passed on.
