Looking for any reports on ice in Utah! It has been a warm winter, yet I have not read any reports on ice conditions on lakes that traditionally are first to ice: Scofield, Huntington, Mantua, etc. From what I hear, many people post on face book, well I don't do the face book thing, thus I rely on posts on this website. Anyone willing to post some reports?
Thanks!

Scofield has been frozen and fishable for several weeks now. The Mirror Lake Highway (UT SR 150) ponds have been iced and fishable since early December. Lots of higher elevation lakes are iced and fishable currently. I have not seen ANY reports of fishable ice up and down the Wasatch region. I'll be starting - hopefully - when I get back from my Arkansas duck hunt on January 11th.
They have been fishing Mud Creek and some of the other bays, in Strawberry.
We fished Strawberry by the marina yesterday. It was slow for us. Only hooked up twice, one nice cutt. It was cold and windy so we didn't stay long. Ice was about 2 to 2 1/2" thick. Still lots of open water. Someone told us they did well on minnows.
Fished Scofield on Tuesday. Fishing was super fast. Lots of ice so I took the side by side out.

How far from shore did ice extend that was 2 to 2 1/2" thick?
In case anyone is wondering, I am not interested in fishing on 2 1/2" of ice, but the ice should continue getting thicker until it at least reaches 3" thick (4" would be even better).

Mantua is close, but not quite there yet. Open water on the West and East sides I will check again in two weeks..
Ice was starting to get there two weeks ago at Newton and Cutler, but warm temps have blown it out and it’s very scary so I haven’t tried it all week. Cold temps next week will start to rebuild and hopefully get us some ice soon. Later J
Hey Derek had the boat on Hyrum today, 36.6 degrees so close but not quite there, whitecap’s probably mixed up the surface layer a bit but hopefully that helps chill it a little deeper. Didn’t graph much for fish today so that was a little disappointing but Greg got a 15.5” bow so not bad for Hyrum. Later J

Jeff, it's pretty typical, this time of the year, that most of the bows are so shallow that you won't graph them much but you should be able to go to spots where you find perch and find them. They might be hugging the bottom but when numbers are high, you can find stacks of them. Did you get rained on, while you were there?
Koosharem has about 12" of ice, we went on Monday last week and did awesome, went back on Friday it was slow.

Thanks for the ice update. I've never fished that lake is there only trout in that lake? How big do the trout get there?
Drove up to causey this morning and found much better conditions than my drive Christmas eve. There was a bit of ice/ open water then. There is now 6-8in in the dam area. Below the look out was open water last week so be cautious there. Check the ice as you go. Talked to the only one there fishing and he had only marked a few. Edges are still a little soft so step cautiously.
