Echo, Rockport and East Canyon are trying to build ice. I expect Lost Creek would be the same. There were people fishing Echo near the dam a couple days ago. However I checked and it was grey thin ice. I also checked EC and RP. Similar conditions. Not for me, yet. It is cold today and if it stays that way I think there may be fishable ice all around me this weekend. On the thinner side but fishable in some coves. Unless it gets windy.
That said I had two of my students go through the ice at the berry last weekend. In the Chicken Creek area. They went through multiple times getting back. Scared them good and proper. No it was not on a sponsored club fishing trip. I was not with them. They had floating bids thankfully. I remember why I dont get all gaga about early ice. I like being alive for my family and for me a fish just ain't worth that risk for me. To each their own. Poke that ice and be careful but it is about to get icey on them waters
