Fished Friday till Sunday. Was slow fishing but the ones I did catch were nice. Got 4 burbot from 30-32in and an elusive 23in lake trout. Ice was pushing the 30in mark so riding the sxs out there was very nice. Will post some pics when possible.
Glad you were able to get up there again Matt and catch some nice ones. Did it look like the edges were still good, as you got on and off the ice? What kind of bait do you use there?

Ice conditions were great. We've mainly been using chub as we caught a ton at viva Naughton last year but sucker has been working good also. I've been using glow cutter bugs, gazillas and Yamamotos.

How do you store your chubs, after you catch them? And how do you catch your chub, net or one at a time?

Well funny story but not so good for winning the Viva Naughton derby. I was marking tons of fish but couldn't get a thing to bite so I down sized my jig to the smallest tungsten crappie jig I had tipped it with wax worm and started catching chubs. Must have caught 100s between 6 of us that down sized our offerings to catch something. We were there for 3 days. Sky vacuumed sealed 2-3 per pack and he just has them in his deep freeze
Here's a few pics from the trip

Looks like a nice setup you have there what is that around your shack
Sounds like some dandy burbot, congrats. Still need to meet up with you for some inspiration on the bayrunner customization

Thanks. On the top is a tarp that has been formed and folded to fit my camp tent snug. It's held on at multiple points with bungees. These tents are great but not necessarily made for camping in for 2-3 nights. This serves a couple purpose. It retains heat and prevents condensation build up that drips inside eventually. It also helps out big time when you get snow, sleet or rain. Everything just slides right off. The other thing hanging there is a120w solar panel to charge my solar generator during the day.

It was a good time for sure. If your ever going to be around Roy and have some spare time hit me up. It's usually set up in my enclosed trailer drying out after every trip.

Here's a few pics from when I put it together. When I replaced my skin with the 4dr version I used some safety wire instead of the braided line. Much easier to put on the skin. Really wish I would've used a better color tarp to match the tent but I used what I had already in my garage lol

Do you target and catch any Kokanee at Fontanelle?

I do have jaw jacker set ups specifically for Kokanee but have only got 2 at fontenelle and 2 at the gorge in the past 5-6yrs. Pretty hard fish to chase thru the hard deck for me. If the weather's good I will usually get 5-6 rods out.

Great!  I knew they had Kokanee in there, just wondered if you had success through the ice for them.

Pretty good size ones from what I hear. Just never been lucky enough to have any nice sized ones pass my way
