Good Luck all. hope the northern waters are better than last year.

Yeah, I even tried twice to "poach" one from the north and got skunked both times. You always seem to find some good ones though!

I agree John, it was tough on Cutler as well... I sure hope things get better we're getting spanked lately... J

Hi Jon, way to get things started! I will get these scored and entered in time for next Wednesday's weekly update. I tried to open one today it it was taking forever and still dind't open. I'm headed to gorge in the morning, so I'll have to get these when I get back

Wow John, that's amazing that you have caught so many big ones already. We might have to come up there and join you one day soon.  If you don't mind me asking, what bait are you using and are you doing better early or later in the day?

bait: carp meat and carp guts

mainly fish in morning. get most bites before 11 am but have had bites up to 2 pm. in spring.  summer is different morning and evening are good . night used to be really good but last few years the bugs have just been overwhelming so I stopped night fishing also getting to old to sit out there all night anymore.

Hey John, maybe that's what I need to try different, I've been fishing the afternoon thinking they need the water temps to warm up before they get active feeding and I have only boated two fish so far and nothing over 20".... Problem for me is I can't fish the mornings without burning some leave, but might have to do it... Thanks for the tips... Jeff
