Do any of u know of a fly reel that you can hold on to the handle, and the reel lets out line like a normal reel. sick of reeling in and having a fish turn around hard and me not letting go quick enough and the line snaps.

There are fly reels on the market that have a drag system built into them. I used to fish a cortland that had one. Just ask anyone at the counter to show you the fly reels with a drag system.
Also ask this question on the Fly Fishing board. I know they would know a lot more than me and could probably point you in the right direction.

It's called Anti-Reverse. I have a reel made by American Classics that I use for salmon fishing that is anti-reverse. It comes in handy when a big fish runs. The latest and greatest fly reel has the drag control built into the reel handle so you can hold on to the handle and control the drag with your finger pressure.

I decent reel that has a smooth drag will start to eliminate the need to hold on so tightly to the handle.
Okuma reels make a decent drag at a very reasonable price. I have an Okuma Large Arbor on my 5 wgt and love it. I think I paid $50 for it. Spare spools are only $15. The only drawback is if you drop just the reel on a hard surface, the foot (?) of the reel will break. Okuma sent me a replacement at no charge though.
Hope this helps,
