I know this is a Utah board but has anyone been up to Pali
es resevior lately? If so how was the fishing and what condition is the ice in? Thanks

If you are talking about Pali
es reservoir on the Idaho Wyoming line, I drove past it last weekend on my way home from the fishing derby at Fremont Lake in Pinedale. It looked like there was quite a bit of snow on the ice, but I couldn't tell if there was water on the ice under the snow or not. This is something that happens quite frequently up at Pali
es, especially when the lake is filling as it is now. Shouldn't be problem with ice thickness - the lake has been frozen for a long time, but you may have trouble getting on it. There looked to be several feet of slush around the edges in most places - nothing a good 8 foot plank couldn't solve. There were people on the ice fishing at Big Elk Creek when we drove by, and there had been one group of people at the dam. I don't know if that says anything about how the reservoir has been fishing. We expected to see more people on the ice. Id did look like people had ridden their snowmobiles onto the ice at Calamity and then across the lake, but I couldn't tell where they were headed. I wanted to hit the Sades one more time this year, but I don't think I am going to make it. We have had some great spring fishing days near the dam and at other locations. Good luck and let me know if you end up going. I would like to hear how you do.

We woke up on Saturday morning to a Wyoming blizzard, and it lasted most of the day. Weather conditions were bad, but the fishing was worse. Between six of us we didn't pull one fish through the ice. We watched the guy next to us pull what looked like a 15 pounder though the ice. He probably won some money. As for us, we all wasted our 25 dollar entry fee. We were all so disappointed that we didn't even stay to fish on Sunday.
