I am going to be in Salt Lake, around 3000 South on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, and am hoping to have about an hour for lunch each day. I get tired of fast food and would rather spend my time fishing. I don't plan on fishing a lot but I would rather sit on the edge of some water that in a restaurant.

I was just wondering if anybody knows of some good quick access spots near 3000 South and Main in Salt Lake that I can try. Any directions, advice, hints, tips, etc. would be appreciated. I may even stay for an hour or two in the evening after training to try some spots if there are any good ones. Thanks for any info.

Try the mill creek. Its right there. I've caught quite a few under the main street bridge. I'd recomend casting little lures, like Panther Martins or Blue Fox's in the deeper holes, but also where you think they might be. Also, down by west temple there's a good hole for nice big browns right under the street. I've caught my personal biggest(23") from that spot.

Thanks for the info, I'll have to pull up a map to find a good access point unless you have more detailed directions.

There's a nice little parking lot on the main street turn off. I always park there when I fish it. There's a brick building right next to it. I can't remember the name now. Just so you know, the stream is kind of little. But it holds quite a few fish.

Do you have a gps? If so let me know and I can send you the Waypoints of some spots over there.

I don't have a gps but thanks for trying. Any other advice is still much appreciated. This includes what to use, where to park, etc.

I didn't see anything in the proclamation regarding special regulations or artificial only or anything like that on Millcreek. Is there anything like that? I don't think there are but wanted to double check before I try a new place.

Theres no special regs.I've fished the Millcreek quite a bit. the Jensenkid is right about his info and you can also use small rappallas or drift some worms with a bb split shot.
