Hi Everyone
Silverwood is still closed to auto traffic. The walk-in trail is open to fish by the dam. Folks are helping to clean up the mess from last years fire. No date set to open.
My co-worker went to Majave Narrows to fish. Came home with a nice stringer. The new hybrid fish is bright yellow. I never seen one like it before. I read that Santa Ann and Irvine were putting them in their lakes. Nice size fish. But the true test is how they taste.

Are they putting in the lightning trout?? or is it a hybrid of Bass??

Bright yellow sounds like that trout that was printed in Field and Stream that one of our happy BFT members sent in to them. Makes me wanna get out there and fish it! But I've gotta conserve money at this point so I can get a larger vehicle so I can carry more gear and tow a boat.

Hey there chum-bucket,
Thanks for the confirmation on the lake. When you say 'fish by the dam', I guess that means along both shores? If I wanted to float the lake, do you think that would be allowed as it was before? How far would I have to carry my tube from where people park?
Thanks,
JapanRon

hi ron if you can drive up to the dam you would not have a far walk at all maybe 50 yards at the most there is ( was ) parking at both ends of the dam so you don't have to climb down the rocks

He there theangler,
Those lightnings look really nice. I'm tempted to go out there one of these days. Do you go out on a boat, tube or bank it??

Are you still fishing that area?? We would be interested in hearing about any current fishing conditions from there.[cool]
