Hi guys and gals,

I listened to the news last night and heard that it is now against the law to smoke on the beaches in California. I think they are going a bit far. After living in the Santa Cruz area for a number of years and never having seen a beach without at least a good breeze, I wonder what they hope to achieve. How do the surf fishers in the area feel about this new law? Back here in the mid-west, even some of our outspoken non smokers think this is just a bit rediculus. I sure hope they don't get that bad here yet.

Thanks for the heads up Windy. I think they are pushing it a bit to far. They started with not smoking within 10' of a public entrance to a building, then to 25' and 50'. They jumped to 100' if it is a govt building. The beach thing sounds a little too far fetched but in the course of direction.

Hey there Windy,

A number of Cities have enacted ordanances against smoking on 'their' beaches. This is not a California-wide ban YET!!!
