Spent about 2 hours in the afternoon on Sunday the 28th fishing off Rocky Point at Hyrum Reservoir. Water was 42°F and very murky still. With it being so murky, I put a night crawler on my line and Power Bait on my wife's. Never got a bite on either. Several bass boats were working the vegetation on the shallow south end. They got a lot of practice casting for bucket mouths, but I never saw one of them hook up.

Water at 42 degrees should keep the bass inactive until the water reaches 60-65 then the water will be on fire.

[red]Talked to a coupla guys with worms and power bait just south of the dam that had three trout yesterday afternoon. There were also a whole bunch of dead 2-4 inch fingerling bass washed up to shore all along the dam. [/red]

I wonder what could have caused the bass die off? Maybe too cold this winter?
