[Smile] Has anyone been to pineview this week? with the warmer weather I wondered if the crappie were biting.

Last week when I was out on willard, I heard a guy talking who said he was up there getting some real big ones.

I dont know the guy personally so I wont vouch for his statement.

My wife and I were up there Sunday. There were lots of carp jumpin in the shallows, and I had one on my line, but it got off. The shoreline was loaded with brush, making it difficult to fish from shore. I didn't have my waders or pontoon, so I didn't really fish for crappie a lot, but I tried for a while. I didn't get any hits with what I tried, but if I were better prepared i might have tied into a few. The lake's still pretty low, but the road across the north arm was mostly under water, which is a good sign.

I saw several people in tubes in the middle arm, but I don't know if they had any luck. It was pretty weedy there too. I saw one woman fishing across the cove from us, apparently for crappie, but I didn't see her get anything.

The water was fairly cold based on the bare leg test.

We only stayed a few hours because my wife is a red head and didn't take any sun block with her=painful burn right now. She has a nice glow about her though[sly]

If I get a chance, I'll try heading back up there this weekend, with the tube or toon, and maybe the fly rod.

Thanks for the info.

You're welcome. I think as the weather warms a bit, and the water comes up some, all that vegetation along the banks will make for some awesome crappie fishing

Ya thats the only good thing about a drought.

I plan on going to pineview this weekend. I'm going to go after the muskie. It might be a little bit early for the muskie but I want to get a jump on the summer challenge.
