At pineview I've always had luck with ultralight tackle (4lb test or less) and small green grubs. Crappie can sure be finicky though. Good luck on your trip.

pink or orange ratfinke as small as you can get and fish them slow. drop it to the bottom and then bring it up slowly about halfway down the docks neer those trees. It can be hit and miss there, but I have had good luck there at times. the best i have done for the crappie this year has been at the outlet neer the pumphouse on the ice, but I don't know how it is now,

I was gettin some yesterday on a 1/32 oz, black and red tube by Rattlesnake. These always seem to work for me, but I don't know about utah lake, never fished for em' there. Good luck.

I would try small 1/16 or 1/32 oz. tube jigs in various color combos (white/red or white or chartreuse maybe?). That's all I ever caught them on, although I've only caught a few and it was only one spring several years ago. Put a very small bobber on and keep adjusting the depth until you find them. It can be helpful to put a 2-way swivel on and put a different color on each side, to see what they want. Try tipping them with a tiny piece of nightcrawler.

Good luck!
