From an article in Thurday's edition of the The Salt Lake Tribune, written by Brett Prettyman:

"Utah's most popular reservoirs and rivers experience the following annual pressure in angler days according to a statewide survey conducted in 2000. Another survey is scheduled next year:
Lakes and Rivers
Strawberry Reservoir - 756,355
Scofield Reservoir - 206,221
Uinta Mountains - 142,768
Rivers
Provo River - 375,639
Weber River - 272,212
Green River - 129,443"

Interesting #'s

Everybody complains about how crowded the Green is and yet it gets less traffic than the Weber.

I think the problem with the green is that it has that many angler hours, but the doesn't include all of the recreational boaters and rafters that aren't fishing but just running the river. Adds a lot more traffic I would imagine.

True, there are as many floating the river as fishing, if not more.

I also think that most of the pressure is on the A section then the B section. Where as the Weber pressure is spread out over a lot of distance on the river.

[#800080]It looks like a biased survey to me. No Flaminge Gorge, Lake Powell, and Bear Lake this must a trout survey or something as dubious. Utah Lake has more hours than Strawberry, Scofield, and The Unitas. Jordanelle has alot more pressure than Scofield too. Strawberry would be the only accurate numbers I see.[/#800080]
