Crappie fishing is winding down for this years spring season. Some crappie are still being caught on minnows fished under bobbers around the shallow brush. The crappie are biting VERY early and VERY late in the day. The moon is going full and most of the fish will spawn at night. Largemouth and smallmouth are good. Largemouth are going to their beds as well as the bluegill. Largemouth are hitting shallow crankbaits and spinnerbaits around the yellow flowers and along the shallow pea gravel banks. Smallmouth are hitting on the gravel points close to the mouths of the bays. Bluegill are good almost anywhere now. They will spawn soon. Catfish have been caught close to shore on nightcrawlers and cut bait. Whitebass have been hitting well from the shore, below Barkley Dam. As the crappie season slows all the other fish move shallow.

TIP: The water is warming very fast. Change patterns often.

BITS AND PIECES: You can't do nothing about something that you can't do nothing about.

www.kentuckylakebarkley.com
