it was very cold and windy, and that unfortantley drove the carp out of the shallows. no carp were shot and only one was caught. mike does have a good story, i think he stole petyy4lifes thunder, lol. it was fun any ways.

Man, that sucks. Sounds like the weather really threw it off.

Fishboy2,

Only one carp was caught, and a catfish? How odd, didn't anybody else catch bigmouthers? I woke up the denizons who were sleeping in their trailor at Lindon early morning with four bucketmouths, one guy sitting in the chair on the corner by the docks was going nuts when I hollored and whoopeed when I caught a fat 18 inch LMB, and then caught three more after that. first was was 18 inches and then second was about 16 inches with the last two coming in around 14 inches. My time was up to leave early to go to work.

Are you sure nobody else caught any bass? For some reasons, I feel like I would have won a tournament if that was a real tournament LOL.[cool]

yeah nobody else caught any bass, weird.

You da man! I tried to go after the LMB for a while, but then gave up and started to use bait.

What were you using?

Ceasar:

The Carp Spring Fling was fun even though the fishing wasn't. We met lots of people, some we've met before and some for the first time. Dan was stoking the grill, Fishboy2 was heating the beans, and I was dunking chips in salsa. Dan's apple crisp was just great and I really enjoyed it. Polo gobbled green chili salsa, petty told everyone all the salsa had glass in it, (I think it was so he could eat more of it) In all the guys ate 2 1/2 quarts of my salsa and Dan took home the remains of the pumpkin salsa, that turned out pretty good.

The fishing and wind was ugly so UncleRay and I left for a little while and hit Walsburg area the stream dumping into Deerr Creek thinking of hitting the spawn but the water was too high and very few fish were seen. I caught a couple bows 1 about 12" who inhales a 3" tube jig and a 17" 1 3/4 lb bow that inhaled my favorite panther martin tipped with a worm.

We made it back to see the damage done to the salsa and chips and to the smell of burgers on the grill, apple crisp, and baked beans. it was great.

Thanks to all who gave their day for the get together, and who did all the work while we played and ate.

Dan & fishboy2 - you both did a bang up job! Congrats and thanks

3 and half inch tube jig green with watermelon/pepper flecks along the north dike shore maybe one foot off the rocks... be patient and you will catch them.

The 18 inch fatty had a small open red sore festering on its back. I wondered how he got that. Does anybody know what that is?

I was in the right location, casting to the same areas. I figured with the temps dropping and the constant wind, most of the LM would be in a none feeding mode. I guess I should never assume anything.

Nice work! About the sore, I have no idea. Thanks for the reply.
