If you make your own snells and worm harnesses, you probably keep a good selection of beads on hand in a variety of colors and sizes. Buying beads in any quantity from the usual fishing tackle sources however, is not only difficult it’s down right expensive. The next time you’re shopping for knitting yarn with your wife at the local Ben Franklin Crafts store (you do that don’t you?), walk down a few isles and check out their selection of plastic beads. Huge bags, dozens of styles and colors, and reasonable! In the same isle with the beads is something called Poms. Round, soft, and in several sizes. Just perfect for soaking up your favorite fish attracting scent. A couple of isles over are stick-on eyes for dolls. Put a couple of these on an aspirin head jig and you’ve got something different to show the fish. Let your imagination be your guide as you wander around this new "tackle" store and revel in the amazing smorgasbord of untapped possibilities.

Hey there daymere,

Yard sales and swapmeets are a great place to get 'junk jewelry' for nothin' too.
