Thanks for your help!!

Polo,

I am a recruiter for Volt Services group and we are moving our office from 6600 South in Midvale to West valley at 2875 South Decker Lake Drive , Suite 240. I believe it is the ADP building in the industrial park. We are moving there in a couple of weeks.

yes, there are some prtty nice bass in there, as well as bluegill and crappie. anything that you can find in the jordan is in there. the water that enters the lake on the west side is one of the canals that come off of the jordan river. the cement outlet is the best spot. i have cuaght huge blue gills, and smaller walleye, and crappie.there are also bullheads, and some pretty big channels, as well as all of the carp that you can handle. there are also some big whitebass in there. the biggest one that i have ever caught in my hole life, i caught in there it was 3 1/2 lbs i caught it on a whole crawler under a bobber, right were the water boils behind the cement wall at the outlet. also tonns of crawdads. i used to fish there every other day when i lived in west jordan. spent a good summer fishing that place, even fished it with my float tube.

To me it looks the like water there is rank. Is the water clean enough to safely eat the fish you catch? Do they taste okay? Does the water smell bad like most of the Jordan River? I've always wondered that.

the inlet to the lake from the jordan is on the east side the cement area the outlet is on the west side it ends up in the great salt lake.

ok but people think the colorado river is clean and ok to eat fish out of it lake powell amd mead yet it is the most polluted river in the united states. i just find this funny. just because a lake or river is muddy dosen't mean anything... read water quality reports before we judge... utah lake is 100 times cleaner then powell.

Be careful of what you believe. It is only an environmental group that claims the Colorado is so polluted. I'm not saying that the river is clean, I'm just saying that those kinds of groups tend to see only what they want to see. Therefore, we shouldn't take as gospel everything they claim.

I asked my question about the quality of the water in Decker lake, not because the water is muddy, but because of the years of abuse that the pond has been subjected to. They have cleaned it up some lately but for years it was just a watery trash heap. I can live with fish from muddy water. But toxic fish are another story.

I fished here today hoping for something. Water was really dirty and the wind was up a bit. No bites fishing a couple different spinners that I catch bass on regularly. Something broke the surface 15 feet from me but couldn't tell what. 2 dead carp on the shore and 3 cans of corn were the only evidence of fish....

I've had quite a bit of success at Decker with a worm either under a bobber or bottom fishing for catfish. I've had days where I'd throw 2 lines in and couldn't keep up with the amount of bites and fish I was pulling in.

I've used spinners near the cement walls from the shore, tossing it up or down the shoreline and have scored plenty of white bass, smallmouths, no large mouths though. Also snagged a perch from a bobber.

The bugs there can get terrible but I really do like Decker, especially for such a quick, local drive too if you live in the valley. I would not eat anything out of there.

Good luck!
