Welp, here she is fellas[angelic][angelic]. As you can see, it's a good thing she looks more like her mom than her old man![laugh]
She came home yesterday after two days under the lights for Jaundice, but after going in for another blood test today her billyruben test score went up to an 18, so she has to go back under the lights for a little sunbathing[cool], but at least they are bringing them to our house instead of going back in the hospital[unsure]. She'll be alright, but for those of you that pray, please include her.[angelic]

Congratulations on the new kid!!!! I will definitely hold her in my thoughts and prayers, but things usually work out with that stuff. IS that your first child????

She'll be in my prayers as well. Congratulations, she's a cute one!

Yep, first kid. Thanks for the well wishes, PK.

Holy cow! That's a beautiful baby. She will be fine. We did the light-bed thing at home with our first one too. You are in for a treat. Kids are awesome. Congratulations! Oh yeah, get some sleep whenever you can. You will need it.[

She's beautiful out4trout. My daughter (born 1 month ago) narrowly missed the billy lights. Her scores were just below the cut-off. She was tested 3 days in a row. It broke my heart to see them prick her little heel.[unsure] However, she has an over protective daddy. Anyway, congratulations to you and your wife and I'll make sure to include your little one in our prayers. God Bless..

BEARCLAW,
Oh man, you got that right! My daughter had to be tested for a few extra things and when we took her home her heels were all cut up. Her cry was pitiful. It tore my heart out to watch that. On the other hand, wait until you get to hold your 18 month old down while they give her stitches. That is really
too. At that age they can't understand why you betrayed them.
Kids!

Congradulations! She's beautiful! The fish can't refuse anything as beautiful as your daughter. I know they didn't mine, she always out fished me. Al

Stitches at 18 months?[shocked] That would be very difficult to watch.. I am finding out that I have soooo much to learn about being a dad. Getting a full nights sleep without listening to every breath she takes is probably the first step.. I'll probably lean on you from time to time for some advice, if you don't mind. Sounds like your a good poppa..[

Thanks. I try to be a good dad but I'm not perfect. But here is one thing I have learned, and I am sorry for being so mushy here, and that is that children are a gift. Enjoy that gift and give back as well. You will be surprised how they wrap themselves around your heart without even trying to. I can guarantee that your children's first bumps and scrapes are going to hurt you worse than it hurts them. I love my two girls so much and I amazed everyday just watching them do their thing. They make my wife and I so happy. And the best part, both my girls LOVE to eat fish. It's great!

Hey congratulations! Dont worry about the jaundice its normal. My daughter had it really bad for a while but it went away eventually.

Hey Geoff,
Looks like you got a keeper there!

Hey I hear ya there, Bearclaw. So far I'm pretty overprotective too. Driving her mom nuts, but she'll get over it, and I'll calm down a bit. I'm still gonna make her carry pepper spray or mace when she's a teenager though, and probably get her into some martial arts lessons too.[laugh] When she's old enough she might have to get a concealed firearm permit like her old man too. O.k., maybe that last part was a little too extreme.[

Hey, I totally already understand what you are saying, Matador. She's only 6 days old, and she already has her old man wrapped around her little finger! What a special little gift she is!
O.k., this is a manly fishing board, so I'll stop the cheesiness here, but being a dad is very cool so far I have to say (til she's a teenager, that is!) I don't even mind being tired from her waking me up! Guess I've gotta stick around the house for a month or so on weekends, but after that I should get a kitchen pass to catch up on some fishin'. Wanna catch some big cat's outta the Jordan and go get some spring trout fatties lurking around the shore up at Scofield and the Berry, wanna catch my first wiper at willard...hell I could go on for a long time here. Better stop!

[cool]Thanks for all of the kind words fellas, and consolation for those of you who've had similar situations with Jaundice or other setbacks like that. This board rules.

Congrats, cute kid! I went thru this with my daughter too too 33 days total under the lights to get her ready to roll. I slept on the floor next to the "suitcase" the whole time until all was better. It'll come around, these are stressful times and patience is needed, also a newborn will try both you and your wife's patience with each other, just hang in there. They are both goping to need you.
